it's saturday night, and we're relaxing at home. we've had a very active weekend so far, and i wanted to spend the night "in" before i hit the road again. m and i went on a date last night, to the movies and then to borders. we saw intolerable cruelty, which was pretty good. i bought a few magazines for my trip, and a cute little spiral notebook that was 50% off. m got a new computer book.
today we went to the apple festival, and had a lovely day. the puppies behaved really well around so many people, especially considering all of the attention they were getting from the people at the festival. we met a family who have two bostons from the same breeder as our two. we stocked up on homemade goods, and we even bought some christmas decorations.
while the weekend has been great so far, i feel like i haven't been able to enjoy it as much as i should. i will miss having my sunday at home, because i have to buy some new fall/winter work clothes, and i fly out at 5:30 pm. and i never sleep well in a hotel, no matter how nice it is. worst of all, i don't get to spoon with m, which is one of the best things in the world. but all of this work i'm doing will pay off, hopefully in the not-too-distant future. and then m and i can save more, buy a nice lake house, and retire by age 50.
