they're trying to bribe us at work. we're finally making the switch from windows 95 to windows 2000 (ooo . . . cutting edge), and part of the process is a survey of our pc conducted by our IS department. our new desktops will stifle our personalities by not allowing us to change the screensaver or even set our own wallpaper. gone are the days when we can have pictures of family, cars, sports, etc. on our monitor to remind us that there is life outside of work. (i have a cool rocket launch photo from my aunt in florida.) and they think they can buy us with cracker jacks and chocolate. maybe they only schedule these surveys on a monday so that we are more complacent and more likely to accept their gifts. but the happiness of a sugar high can only last so long.
