well, yesterday was a blast. i am so glad that the weather was nice, even though it was a little bit hot in the sun. there was such a good turnout at the festival. it was really nice to see so many people out and relaxed. everyone in the area had been pretty tense in the past few weeks about the sniper, especially since he came so close to us here in richmond. the games were good, and so was the entertainment. one of the acts at the festival, clann an drumma brought a very different style of music to the day. most of the acts at the festival in the past were very folky or of the celtic rock variety. clann an drumma played in the middle of the marketplace (instead on one of the stages) and looked like they were straight out of the movie braveheart. they were a very nice addition to the roster, and i really hope they come back next year.
the rest of the weekend has been full of relaxing, except for a brief trip to the mall today to look for fall work clothes. we played a lot of tekken 4 last night, and unlocked jin, nina, violet, combot, and the random character selection. the game is awesome - if you haven't played it yet, you should. the characters totally interact with the setting, i.e. you can back people up against the wall or knock them through obstacles, which causes more damage. the a.i. in the game is incredible too. when you get to the last stage of each story, you have to change your plan of attack for each round of the fight.
well, that's it for now. time to relax some more (and maybe play more tekken?).
